Locality: Schutsekama Mine, Riet River, Ritchie, Sol Plaatje Local Municipality, Frances Baard Municipality, Northern Cape Province, South Africa
Dimensions: 3 x 3 x 3 cm / main crystal: 2.7 cm.

Description: Mass: 19 g MIM number:2199 Perfectly formed and symmetrical octahedron with sharp points and faces augmented by very flattened 6-sided rounded pyramidal shapes. The crystal weighs 92.58 carats, is light yellow, and is surprisingly clean (a single 1mm inclusion is visible very close to the surface, the interior being completely clear). It is astonishing that this crystal, found in the diamond-bearing gravel of a river, has survived so intact.
