Mineral: Fluorapophyllite-(K) on Stilbite-Ca
Locality: Pune District (Poonah District), Maharashtra, India

Description: Mass: 42600 g MIM number: 2205 Spectacular alignment of green apophyllite crystals measuring approximately 65 cm and taking the appearance of a snake, hence the nickname "Kaa" after the fictional giant snake from The Jungle Book stories written by Rudyard Kipling. The basalt slab covered with white stilbite-Ca on which the snake formed seems complete on all sides. It is very rare to find such a large specimen (let alone with this unusual aesthetic) in such good condition.
