Description: Yeleninskaya rossyp', Bulunskiy rayon, Polyarnaya Yakutiya, Respublika Sakha, Vostochnaya Sibir', Russie Mass: 112 g MIM number: 2215 Flattened (most likely eluvial) nugget formed on both sides of cubic crystals with slightly rounded edges in a perfectly parallel formation (it may actually be the same crystal with hopper formation). Some quartz and laterite are present. Cubic gold crystals are very rare (they most often have octahedron or dodecahedron derived shapes), let alone in such a well-preserved sample (despite its alluvial origin).
