Description: Opale is a kind of rarity from the Freiberg district, Erzgebirge, Saxony. The picture shows an 18th century find from the Sonnenwirbel Fundgrube (a rather small mine that was later consolidated with the famous Himmelsfürst mine). 6,5 cm so-called wood opale with label dating by 1780-1810.
