Description: Eclogite Mitchell County, North Carolina, USA 4'5 x 3 cm. A dark eclogite poor in jadeite. The mineral assemblage at the thermal peak is omphacite (Jd27–35) + garnet (Alm48 - Prp30 Grs22) + quartz + rutile ± zoisite ± zircon ± apatite ± sulfides ± Fe-Ti oxides (cf. B. V. Miller, K. G.
