Description: Well-crystallized Azurite crystals make up a vertical base capped by a large, sharp rhombohedral Azurite crystal, measuring 34 x 21 mm. The color ranges from bright blue to dark blue. Minor white Calcite? provides an accent. This is an exceptional piece with no damage. The Red Dome Mine produced sporadic bursts of Azurite and other carbonates during 1995-1996, and is now closed. It was a gold mine located 15 km WSW of Chillagoe.
