That would be nice, Henk, your specimens look really interesting. But please provide the sizes of each one. Your sceptered amethyst crystal, for example, is very beautiful. But is it 1 cm or 5 or 10 or more? Please add the sizes to the specimens yet posted and also to the ones you will share with us in the future - I'm eagerly anticipating them :-)

Cheers!

Hi, Henk, welcome. Cool pieces.

The members can edit their own posts only before another member writes the following one. I suppose you mean the previous posts so you can add the measures. Jordi Fabre, the moderator of this section, is the only one who can. I suggest you sending the measures to Jordi Fabre by mp. I am sure he will add them as soon as he can. Obviously he is always very busy.

Cheers,
Antonio

Please Henk send to me a "pm" with the dimensions and I will add it to your fine images.

Jordi

Thanks Jordi! You are too kind (pm sent). Has anyone seen a carrolite crystal of that size from the DRC before? The crystal is not all that shiny, but i kept the specimen because of the sheer size of that crystal.

You can look on https://www.mindat.org/gallery.php?min=911 for examples of Carrolite. One picture crystal is 5cm, but most are much smaller.

Thanks for that link GneissWare! That 5cm specimen is insane! I will have to speak to my suppliers of congo material to be on the lookout for such a specimen for my colection. Wow!

Here's my current favorite at the moment... A nice color zoned fluorite with dolomite.

Hi Jim, I haven't been on in a while but to answer your question about what kind of collection I would like to start, I really like gem stones cut and rough and crystals. I am also really getting into rocks not just minerals I don't really know what kind of collection to start, I have loads in my collection, I loved polished rocks and agates as well.

Boy thats a hard one. I have a tough time just picking my favorite from each shelf in my case. Anyway my current favorite is this light purple Fluorite plate. Its hard to tell from the picture but all the crystals are very gemmy. The back side is almost solid Sphalerite. It is a great example of Elmwood mineralization.

I consider myself very fortunate & lucky to have such pieces in my collection, and I really see the beauty in all minerals.

My all time favorite is the Alma King in the Denver museum of Nature and Science. I go to see it at least once a year.

Hi!

Your Elmwood fluorite plate is very fine. I like it. Are you sure it only weighs 1000 g? It seems odd to me.

It would be of great help if you could provide their sizes as well.
