Who doesn’t know Bill Pinch and the fame of his extraordinary collection? Bill has long been preparing a web page with images of specimens from his collection and currently he is already well advanced in the display.

Anyone who wants to enjoy a virtual visit to one of the world’s most important collections of minerals can do it visiting the website of Bill Pinch -> https://www.williampinch.com/ or more specifically its "Minerals" section -> https://www.williampinch.com/minerals

Enjoy it!

His collection is really superb and i'm glad that he built his own page to show it. The photos are very classy, but it's sad that he provides neither sizes nor localities of his specimens :-/

Jordi, thank you for this post & link, I would not have seen it otherwise, I understand he is a well known figure in the mineral world but I don't know anything about him, I really enjoyed the website & look forward to seeing more of this collection as it developes.

He is a legend. Probably the world's best private collector of rare species.

Jordi is absolutely correct. Bill's ability to obtain the best specimens of rare species is unequalled. His huge collection consists of many more common minerals as well, but each is outstanding in quality. Many years ago he had assembled what I considered to be the best private collection ever and that was sold to the Canadian National Museum. What made that collection particularly unique is that every specimen in it was either the best ever found for the species or nearly the best. He also had a remarkably large number of type specimens. Subsequent to selling that collection he started over and now has another collection of similar quality but many of the rare species in the earlier collection are no longer available. Bill has also identified many new species.

Is the time to see the specimens of this great collection. William Pinch kindly gave us the right to reproduce the images of his collection he displays on his web page: https://www.williampinch.com/minerals

As the images of the specimens appear on his web page displayed as thumbnail images, here it would looks a little bit different, more visual.

I plan offer one specimen every day (more or less), and I will start today with the famous Andyrobertsite - seems to be just one quality specimen on the world, this one! - from Tsumeb.

Hopefully you like it as I like. Enjoy!

Thanks for posting pictures of some of the exceptional specimens in the Bill Pinch collection also here. It is important that also images of exceptional rare species are present on the web, but Bill pinch would have served the collector community better by also stating the sizes of the specimens and xls.

I agree Knut, I already sent a message to Mr. Pinch with the same request but we should consider that on his current state of health is a kind of miracle to had his permission to publish the images here and, honestly, we can't demand so much.

Of course I will add sizes if Mr. Pinch can supply they, otherwise I will move this thread to the "Trips and Museum visits" and we can consider the images as a kind of window to see his collection, but without sizes...

I also noticed there was no info on sizes so I went to the website from the link above, I looked at the Tsumeb gallery & really enjoyed every photo, I noticed most photo's stated cabinet, sm cabinet or thumbnail.
