Celestite or is it Celestine?
This is the only Nebraska specimen in my collection. I don't know what the matrix is.
I have a note attached to it: From the private collection of Mr. Royal C. Gould, collected from about 1944 to 1986.

According the IMA list ( https://pubsites.uws.edu.au/ima-cnmnc/MINERALlist.pdf ) Celestine is: A = Approved by CNMNC and Celestite is: D = Discredited by CNMNC, so: Celestine

That's interesting. If you look at the bottom right of my celestine specimen there is a tiny maybe .75mm crystal perched there. I've thought it was pyrite, marcasite, chalcopyrite. My 10x loupe doesn't do it, but it has an interesting form. Any ideas?

I'm in trouble with Nebraska, I can't find more images to reload this thread.

Some FMFer could have a new image of some mineral from this State?

Hope this helps. It's another quartz pseudo after gypsum, but a little different from the lead off image.

Rosette of flattened quartz blades replacing gypsum. At one time this piece was in the E. M. Gunnell and Ed Swoboda pseudomorph collection. Gunnell's label indicates he received it as a gift in 1959.
