Hello! I had the best experience collecting minerals with friends at the Clara Mine in October. I am returning to Germany in two weeks, but, unfortunately, the collecting dumps are closed during this time of year at the Clara Mine (please tell me that the English translation is incorrect as I'd love to visit the Clara Mine again!). Does anyone know of other locations I should check out while staying in the Black Forest? I don't mind driving a couple of hours to reach a great location.

Hi,

The dumps of the Clara Mine are closed. The new season will start in April. I'm not an expert for field trips in Black Forest, but I fear that there are not many alternatives to the dumps of Grube Clara if you're out for finding some minerals. Do you speak German? You can write me a PM and I can give you the contact details of some specialized Black Forest collectors.
