I want to know about the name and location (country, region, and place), this regards to closed down and existing mercury mines. If it is closed or producing today it does not matter.

Examples:
Peru (Huancavelica, ...),
Spain (Almadén)
Netherlands (The Goningen field)

New Almaden Quicksilver mines, San Jose California. Americas largest mercury mine (now closed down).

Look up the New Almaden mine in San Jose, CA on Google Earth. Very interesting to view the surface remains of the mine.
