Here's a favorite Tsumeb specimen from my collection.

Cheers

Azurite.1.jpg
 Mineral: Azurite
 Dimensions: 61mm x 40mm X 15mm.
 Description:
It is a really super specimen with a large single Azurite crystal and a very small secondary parallel crystal on the rear. It has growths of possibly Willemite (?) on one side. The lustre is superb. It is a superb crystal and very interesting in the fact that it was one of the specimen that Sam Gordon (curator at the Philly Academy) found at Tsumeb during his expedition to Africa in 1929, and he was allowed to take half the specimens that he discovered (as once the mine manager found out about the pocket he had found, he did not want him to take any specimens!).

Superb azurite, Vasco!

I must confess that I never was that much into Tsumeb ... my only contribution is that small calcite/dioptase specimen:

Well, I have to correct what I said: That I don't have any other Tsumeb specimens to show doesn't mean I have no pictures of some. If you like Tsumeb, I recommend a visit to Terra Mineralia in Freiberg, Saxony, Germany, here are some impressions:

Helmo I agree with Pierre . Ugly is in the eye of the beholder. I used to belong to an organization that at it's annual weekend meeting had a competitive display case called "My Favorite Ugly." Lots of participants. Glad to see that your Tsumeb journey includes interesting rocks. And yes, there is a lot to see with a loupe or lens. Good rock.
