Thank you Bob. Just go up to the picture of the first Red Cloud in this string and that is the color of ours on quartz. I am curious why the color did not translate. It is even a bit muted on the Rowley mimetite vug I posted but not anywhere near as bad as on the wulfenite.
It was both a good day and a bad day when I collected the calcite. Good that I was able to collect about ten specimens but bad because the miners had destroyed crystals up to 10cm.

A small, but fine Medieval mine near Haiming, Tyrol, Austria, hosts a small number of fine wulfenites. These are my favourites as I live nearby and have the chance to visit it every time I want. The wulfies are not very special and mostly small, but the locality produced only few of them.

a friend of mine acquired this amazing Austrian wulfenite at the 2017 HTCC show - said to be over 150 years old.
