Hi,
I just want to check if this is genuine aventurine. If it's impure, thats okay, but if its just not Aventurine the rock isnt good.

I bought this rock for 28 dollars.

Could be to my eyes.
Along with several other things...

At least is similar to this photo in Mindat
https://www.mindat.org/photo-103571.html

May you be so kind to do hardness test, color of streak, density?
And may you be so kind to tell us which is the supposed provenance of that (geographical locality, not shop.....)
Aventurine is a variety of quartz, If hardness and density agree, then, maybe aventurine, with more basis....

With best wishes

scratches brecciated jasper
scratches rhodonite
scratches apatite

no streak color

density 2.72, while adventurines density is listed as 2.69 at most, but i feel like the impurities make it more dense.

Also, theres a strange red brownish mark that isnt too clear on it.

In my eyes this is simply a chloritic quartzite, no aventurine.

Like "evin likes rocks", how do you do this?

Aventurine is the name for a quartz with green inclusions.....
Not a chrysoprase (quartz with nickel oxide inclusions, green also, but more apple green....)

With best wishes

I'm sorry. I'm geologist and looked at it from my point of view. You are right, aventurine is a quartz (quartzite) with inclusions, of course. My mistake.
