 Description:
Smoky floater with schorl crystal and probably clinozoisite. The long-abandoned Stecklenberg quarry is located in the famous Brocken granite, known for pegmatite minerals. There was one single find around 1900 that produced museum quality specimens of smoky quartz associated with schorl prisms and rose fluorite octahedrons - a gorgeous combination.

 Description:
Fluorite crystals from that locale tend to be either small or big, etched and ugly. In 2016 they did - for Flechtingen - a major find of honey yellow cubes with sea green/bluish phantoms inside.

 Description:
The Felsenschlag area is known mostly for thunder egg agates. Calcite is not a very common mineral there. This specimen shows a 3 cm crystal group with baryte which is very fine for the locality. The specimen used to belong to the Noske collection, the 17.000 pieces were mostly donated to the Hamburg University.

This is an oddity found in the old part of an ancient coal mine during the 1970s (unfortunaltely, the exact mine is not given).

Himmelfahrt Mine, Kirschbaum Stehender vein, Freiberg, Freiberg District, Erzgebirge, Saxony/Sachsen, Germany

 Description:
Massive chunk of silver-rich galena ore. Although not crystallized, this piece shows what was mined down there. Hence such massive, historic ore samples are hard to come by these days.

Crystallized chalcanthite is a rarity from Beihilfe mine. These specimens were found in the late 1960s i think. in fact it´s a mixture with melanterite, called pisanite in the old days.

As many of you will know, Ilfeld is famous for manganites. Other minerals you will find mainly in local collections. The calcites from Ilfeld are just reference pieces, however, i got a rather big one with a 5 cm manganite included at the bottom.

Very nice acquisitions, Andreas, especially that giant and surreal Pfannenberger Einigkeit galena!!! But please ... give that galena specimen a better photo; it deserves it ;-)
