This is my collection of crystals, by the way I'm a beginner, The first one is emerald. The second one is amethyst. The third one is quartz stained with iron oxide. The fourth one is pyrite

KALEB,

Welcome to Jordi Fabre's forum! Nice starter minerals.

More info on your geode. A "geode" is a rock structure composed of 1 or several minerals. Yours is an example from Mexico. In the trade, it is called a Rock Candy Geode. It is from Chihuahua State, but a different location than classic 'coconut' geodes from Chihuahua State. They were first brought out and marketed shortly after 2000 or so. They have small colorless or pale amethyst quartz crystals, often showing sceptering and other interesting architectural formations. I have pictured the marketing company's 2007 Tucson poster showing similar examples of geodes such as yours. I happen to have the very example pictured in the poster. BOB

Welcome to the obsession Kaleb.

You're off to a rockin' start!

Kaleb,
That is secondary rusty iron staining on the surface of otherwise clear quartz crystals. While it can easily be diminished or removed, I personally would do nothing as your example is rather fragile. Some of the crystals might break or fall away from the underlying geode rind. I would leave your example as is.

If you still want it removed, I or another poster will give you options/instructions. BOB

I see some of the small crystals are sceptres.
