Greetings!

We are pleased to put the first pictures of my collection of minerals and rocks in the forum in English. I beg your pardon any typo. I started collecting minerals with only four years old. I mounted my collection through field collections, donations and exchanges. there are only eight specimens that were purchased. I hope you enjoy.

Sincerely,

Anísio

Hi!

Only 4 and collecting minerals? Congratulations! Is anyone out there who started younger? This must be a Guinness record...

Thanks for publishing your pictures here. Please, go ahead, keep posting.

Hello, Carles!

My father traveled for work and always took me with him. The roads were not paved and I started collecting the first specimens as well. Today I am 47 years and the same enthusiasm. Thanks for the encouragement and forgive me if I write something wrong by mistake.

Sincerely,

Anísio

Today I own my first amethyst. My father collected during a trip and handed me. I had about six to seven years.

Anisio, I share your enthusiasm, nicely done. In your location info on your photo of botrioidal Manganocrete, what does the designation BR 354c / BR 262, refer to?
Thanks

Dear Anisio
Thank you for posting your interesting finds. We are very similar! I started also to colelct when I was 4 years old when my entire collection fit into one match box, well, the most appreciated pieces. That match box was decorated on the outside with muscovite, quartz, feldspar etc! When I was 7 years young I saw one incredible very old Swedish quartz specimen in a jeweler shop and it took me three years of saving all money I received for Christmas and Birthday to finally buy it! My collction used to be 99% self colelcted but in 1987 I started to give away and reduce my colelcion heavily and since then I have a higher percentage of exchanged, bought or specimens received as gifts! Looking forward to see more posts from you. I still have specimens in my colelciton collecetd in 1966 and some possibly earlier!!!
Best regards
Peter

Hello, Peter!

Greetings! Congratulations on the efforts of collector. Very cool history. Congratulations on your purchase of quartz Swedish! I will try to translate a text published in the forum in Spanish. The text is about the rescue of an amethyst. My collection is in a room in my house. I have samples up to 11kg. Also I coordinate the museum of mineralogy UNIFOR (University Center) in my town.

Best regards,

Anísio

Hi,

More photos. Calcite has this red color due to an iron oxide film. Inside it is colorless. She was found in the limestone geodes.
