DANY,

Your second photo of the amethyst , if from Uruguay would be from Artigas Uruguay, but the example is pretty generic looking so I might hedge a bit calling it "PROBABLY from Artigas, Uruguay.

Your fourth photo of the green gypsum, var. selenite would probably be from the Pernatty Lagoon locality near Mt. Gunson, Australia. At least that is what is seen on all the labels. BOB

Dany,

There are several localities in Tunisia and Algeria that produce this type of gypsum. If it is from Tunisia, it is likely from Grand Erg Oriental Desert, Douz, Tunisia.

The barite is from Baia Sprie, Maramures, Romania. The orange color is due to inclusions of realgar.

The orpiment is probably not from Arizona. More likely it is from the Getchell Mine, Humboldt County, Nevada. The black matrix is very similar to specimens from there.

Just my two cents concerning the localities:

- As Bob said, Pernatty Lagoon should be the origin of the Australian Gypsum and Artigas the origin of the specimen from Uruguay

- I also agree with Michael concerning the "desert rose", the barite and the orpiment

- Concerning the pyrite: Spain is possible, but my first thought was rather Peru

- No idea about the colourless fluorite, sorry. But wherever it comes from, your locality information "Monte Sommo, Klausen, Südtirol, Austria" is wrong because Südtirol / South Tyrol belongs to Italy, not to Austria ;-)

- Concerning the fluorite from Black Forest: There are several localites where such a fluorite in white and pale blue/green could come from, e.g. Hesselbach Mine, Ilse Mine, Clara Mine, Artenberg Quarry ...

Thank you for the detailed information. I think I need to revise my geography. I'm quite sure the Pyrite is from Spain but I will try to get more information (I remember where he was situated in Sainte-Marie-aux-Mines).
Have a nice Saturday.

Thanks to the Sainte-Marie-aux-Mines 2019 map, I could find the exhibitor who sells "Piritas de Ambasaguas, Muro de Aguas, La Rioja"

Right Dany, but then maybe not from Ambasaguas but from Valdeperillos. Is a very close locality but with quite different crystallography than Ambasaguas. Anyway, waiting for next year when you can ask to the same seller more accurate details, you can label it as:
"Comarca Arnedo (Arnedo County), La Rioja, Spain"
which is not so precise but at least correct 😊

With regard to the pyrite, what is the matrix like? Is it more like hardened clay or something else? The cracked crystals seem to indicate stronger pressure and harder matrix.
I've looked through the Spanish pyrite photos on Mindat and do not find anything that looks like a match.
There's not much shown from Rio Tinto. Could this be from that area?

Thank you for the answer. My specimen is without matrix. The man who sold me the Pyrite was selling several flats with the same type of Pyrites. I will try to post to the Spanish version of the forum. I'm quite sure to get more information.
Have a nice week.

Bob, don't take it bad, but looking through the Mindat images can give some references but not a full overview.

Hello everyone,

I've another doubt about the location of this Wulfenite. Someone told me it's from Touissit, Touissit-Bou Beker District, Jerada Province, L'oriental Region, Morocco with a Dolomite matrix. Somebody could confirm ?

Thank you in advance for your comments.

Thank you Jordi for your answer, but I have tried to find photos on the Internet without success. I've found photos for Wulfenite on Dolomite in Sidi Amer but not in Shaft XI. Could give me more precision if you have time (I know you're busy) ?
1000 Thanks.

Thank you in advance.

Is not so easy to explain this. Will you attend Munich Show? if you attend it I can explain you personally why and with some examples...

Hello Jordi,
Unfortunately I'll not present in Germany this year but I hope in SMAM next year and have a chance to meet you especially in order to thank you in person for the quality of this forum and the time you've dedicated for so many years.

For the explanation, don't worry, I know you're very busy.

Have à nice evening.
Dany.
