I just received the Dave Wilbur's video "What's Hot In Tucson - 2009". As in previous years is highly recommended given the volume of information it contains (4 hours!) and its quality.

In previous years the authors published, as a promotion, several chapters of the video in Youtube, but this year it does not seem to have done.
I requested to the editors some demo's chapter to be published here, if they supply it I will publish it.

For more information and to order the video: https://shop.bluecapproductions.com/product.sc?categoryId=1&productId=49

I believe that 2 segments that did not make the final cut have been posted on YouTube. I think you can get there through Blue Cap Productions web site!

Jordi,

Thank you for your announcement.

Peter is correct, as of today (30.8) we have two segments that did not make the final DVD cut that are online for people to watch for free. Every Tuesday we'll be adding a new segment to this list of online clips to view.

We do this every year as part of the What's Hot In Tucson: Online series. All these segments were shot during the course of our normal What's Hot In Tucson filming but, as you can imagine, not everything makes it to the final DVD. This is because we typically shoot 16-17 hours of footage each year and can only fit 2 hours of footage on each DVD. Therefore every year we have a lot of good stuff that, because of space and time, don't get on the DVD. We feel it'd be a shame to throw this stuff out so we release them online and eventually release them, in full resolution, as an addendum DVD.

These clips are fully-edited clips that even include the new on-screen labels that we started this year so it's not low-quality rejects that we're posting.

I hope everyone enjoys these clips and, if you feel like purchasing the full 2-DVD set, I've set up a 10% discount coupon for all your readers. All they have to do is to enter the coupon code FABRE during their checkout process and they'll get a 10% discount off of their ENTIRE order so it's good for more than just What's Hot In Tucson.

You can view the online clips by visiting our website: https://www.whatshotintucson.com and click on the FREE clips link on the top of the page.

Here's our clip schedule:

Steve Behling from Collector's Edge - ONLINE NOW
Peter Lyckberg Part 1 - ONLINE NOW
Peter Lyckberg Part 2 - September 1
Mineral Buffet - September 8

Again, we'll add a new clip every Tuesday and we'll be making announcements for upcoming clips every 3-4 weeks. People can either check back on our website or sign up to our mailing list and automatically get announcements of new clips, and our other new products, delivered straight to their inbox.

Registration is possible at: https://www.bluecapproductions.com and clicking on the REGISTER link at the top of the page.

I hope everyone enjoys these!!!!!

-Bryan

This video segment is Part 1 of 2 featuring our dear friend Peter Lyckberg. Peter has one of the finest collections of minerals in Europe and we're always thrilled to get together with him to see what he's brought to Tucson. Peter was also featured in the full version of What's Hot In Tucson: 2009 and the two clips presented here are the scenes that were cut out of the DVD. Aquamarine, Tourmaline, Fluorite, Calcite and more. He has some truly amazing specimens.

A couple of new video clips online.

These are the pieces that Bill Larson, from Pala International, shared
with us but didn't make it to the final DVD. Included in this clip are
an Orthoclase from Madagascar, an Azurite from the Morenci Mine, a
Tanzanite on matrix, a Cobaltocalcite from Morocco and a Cavansite
from India.

Even more great minerals from Pala International, including an opal to
die for, is on our 2-DVD set, What's Hot In Tucson: 2009 - available
now.

I found a very nice sample clip on mindat, showing Wilbur together with Ian Bruce and some very, very fine specimens:

Oh, i desire that giant spessartine and the fabulous danburite Ian Bruce shows ...

The green fluorite is from Malmberget, Lappland, Sweden and was found in 1982. It was in my private collection for many years and only a few months before Tucson came to Scott W.
