I don't have any UV lights but I'll try with the sun but I'll have to wait because we have a very bad weather with the first snow in the mountains around me.

Have a nice and safe day.

Hi Dany,

you know I love quartz, especially from the Alps, and I really like both of your last specimens. The one from Göschener Alp shows the typical aesthetics of that locality, with clear smoky quartz on bright matrix; and the chlorite phantoms on the Schin Gorge specimens are also typical for that locality - and very nice :-)

Have a nice and safe week

Hi, Dany. How are you?

Nice Swiss quartz!

As for your question, the terminations would suggest the Dauphiné habit for a half dozen crystals, unless they are broken (I cannot appreciate them from the photo).
Two-three crystals appear to have a slight transitional habit from prismatic to Tessin.
A closer view would favor a better analysis, but in general your quartz exhibits the prismatic habit.

Warm greetings.
Sante

Hello Sante,

Fine and you ? Better from my COVID phobia. I was also thinking of Dauphiné habit but not sure. I have another question for you. We can find in Ticino/Switerlzand needle quartz. Are they of Dauphiné habit ?

Thank you in advance for your help and keep safe.

Have a nice weekend.

A dopo. Dany.
