PostPosted: Feb 18, 2021 17:28    Post subject: Gold (spinel twin) from Aouint Ighoman, Morocco

The specimen shows sharp octahedrons, some parts with hopper formations, in parallel growths, very stylized and with a very distinct spinel-law twin.

Check the excellent report of Dr. César Menor-Salván about the singularity of these Golds: The native gold from Guelmim-Oued Noun, Morocco

PostPosted: Feb 23, 2021 14:05    Post subject: Popular Minerals - Dissakisite-(Ce)/Allanite-(Ce) on Dolomite from Trimouns Mine, France

Crystal on matrix of Dolomite of the isomorphous series Dissakisite-(Ce)/Allanite-(Ce)
The majority of Trimouns specimens present color zoning that seems to indicate the presence of both species in the same crystal, the darkest areas corresponding to Allanite-(Ce), as they are richer in iron, and the dominant lighter areas to Dissakisite-(Ce)

I really like Shangbao fluorites, and that one is among the most impressive I have seen, the size of that crystal is amazing. Absolutely stunning - the perfect fluorite specimen!

PostPosted: Mar 06, 2021 16:26    Post subject: Popular Minerals - Creedite from Navidad Mine, Mexico

Druse on matrix of bipyramidal Creedite crystals, some of them doubly terminated, with sharp pointed terminations.
The specimen is quite different from those known from this locality in recent years, although in some old collections there are similar specimens from the same source, which coincides with the indications that this find was made in old galleries of the mine.

PostPosted: Mar 14, 2021 14:34    Post subject: Popular Minerals - Quartz (variety rose Quartz) from Sapucaia do Norte, Brazil

Group of Quartz crystals (variety rose quartz)
What stands out most in the piece is how sharp the crystals are since rose quartz very rarely presents so much definition.
A Brazilian classic from the Rock Currier collection (No. 5105)
Specimen size: 11.1 ×5.9 × 3.9 cm
Main crystal size: 3.4 × 1.1 cm
