Monthly Mineral Chronicles Volume 4 Issue 8 is now available.

This month, in this 82 page full-colour issue, we have the following articles:

* Illustrated Minerals of Australia Volume 1, Part 6 – Babingtonite to bayldonite. The next installment of a significant undertaking documenting the 1,500 or so mineral species recorded in Australia.
* Mineral Photography - Basics and Beyond Part 1. Mark explains the basics of mineral (and general) photography in the first of a series of articles to help you with photographing your minerals.
* Total Wreck Mine, Empire Mountains, Pima County, Arizona. Rolf takes us on some rough tracks to visit the Total Wreck, and misses out on some wulfenite.
* Mineral Snippet - Descloizite

Again this month, for many of the excellent images, is the ability to click on the image to bring up a larger version. Not only do you get a bigger version, but in some cases, the image you see published may be a cropped version.

Available here - https://sorrellpublications.mineralcollective.com/index.php/2021/08/07/monthly-mineral-chronicles-volume-4-issue-8/

PostPosted: Mar 18, 2022 01:48    Post subject: Re: Monthly Mineral Chronicles, Mineral Guides and more...

A Collector's Guide to the Minerals of Lake Boga is now published.

This Collector’s Guide is now available as either an electronic issue or as a printed book.

The Lake Boga quarry in northwest Victoria has been known to produce a range of interesting minerals. More than 70 species have been identified, including copper and uranium phosphates amongst others. Three minerals have not been found anywhere else (ulrichite, lakebogaite and bleasdaleite).

This book is one of a series of Collector’s Guides, designed to help mineral collectors identify minerals that they may have in their collections from the localities. This book includes 128 pages describing most of the minerals that occur, and 177 colour photographs.

Details here https://sorrellpublications.com/index.php/2022/03/18/a-collectors-guide-to-the-minerals-of-lake-boga-victoria-australia/
