Some signage at the elevators. Well folks, that's about it for the mineral portion of the show. We all gathered down in the lobby area for drinks and for saying goodbye. See next group of photos....

A short time to relax and chat about the show, then everyone is off for dinner and packing up. We stayed and enjoyed some good banter, then hit the road for the 4 hour drive home. It was a long day, but truthfully, it was a good time.

Gail, thank you once more for an interesting, informative and funny show report. You did, as always, a good job! And congratulations to your new acquisitions, the large titanite is exceptional!

Thank you Tobias, I had fun doing it. I might still have a photo here or there to add, but am pretty sure I added enough to give everyone a "feel" for the Houston show. We are still unpacking the minerals we purchased at the show. I will add photos and descriptions as we do. The titanite is a beauty and was in the MinRec in 2006, but not a very good view and it was before it was trimmed. We bought that piece from Mike Bergmann.

We also picked up a choice Chalcocite from Bristol, Connecticut. A wonderful Pyromorphite from Bunker Hill, to name a few.
Again, Tobias, thank YOU for your kind comments. Cheers!

Gail,

Great report as always - just the right mix of people and minerals! We really like the fact you showed some of your acquisitions as you and Jim were purchasing them, within the context of the show. Congratulations on your report and newest additions! Happy Mother's Day!

Thanks Greg, always nice to hear from you. Give Ginny a big hug for me!

Here is a wonderful Kongsberg Silver we got at the show. Jim is holding it for scale.

12.4 cm tall by 7.6 wide, 4.3 deep.

Native silver, wires and ropes.

Hi Gail,
I see you included a picture of Adam Sotomayor. Did you happen to snap a pic of the sculpture in his room? The skull with sunglasses and the butterfly bowtie? By Francisco.
I want to show my friends; they don't believe me.
I bought the DVD of "American Woman". Awesome! A new Michelangelo...

I have a photo of that from the Tucson show. I will go dig it out. Francisco brought his wife and lovely daughter to meet us at the art evening at the Westward Look. Super nice folks!

Oh..too funny. Our son-in-law was here today, for Mothers Day. Jim and I thought about how much his bald head resembled the "bowling ball" hematite we had. ...Me and my camera, well...couldn't resist.
