The red beryls were in Mark Meiterman's cabinet, not sure of his contact info, but I am positive he can enlighten you on who is doing the digging. It might even have been him, can't remember as we were talking to so many in that room as I was taking the photos.

Gail -

"Newly mined red beryl" I made the assumption that this material is recovered entirely from the old dumps in Utah - but maybe not? There might be more! We can hope. I lost track of the activity there after it shut down.

The end of day two, Saturday. We went through only a few rooms and knew that we needed to do more quick visits on Sunday. We took Lois Nelson and Wayne Leicht out to dinner at Trulucks and had a wonderful meal !!!

Sunday...mineral show is open 10 till 5.
We are determined to visit with more dealers today....but on the drive over, we saw things clearer as the temperatures had dropped to a very comfortable state.

PostPosted: May 03, 2010 15:11    Post subject: Re: Gail Spann's HOUSTON 2010 show report

We had a wonderful time with my parents who live close by, at least by Texas standards, about 40 miles.
I was amazed at how many American flags, and Texas flags, I saw. I usually don't notice them, but once I saw one I realized how many are flown here.
I had a better chance to photo some of the distant sights too.
