Good news! The November/December issue of Rocks & Minerals magazine is now out and it features a fine article about our fearless leader and his mineral collection. In order to view this article link: https://www.rocksandminerals.org/. The article will be the first thing you see. Click on "full text." In order to see all of the photos you have to click on the link at the bottom of the article.

It is well worth the effort. The article is very well done and the photos of selected specimens from Jordi's collection are excellent.

I had the joy and privilege of visiting Jordi's collection in Barcelona just a couple of years ago. The R&M article does not make justice to what it really is: much better. That collection must be seen in person.

Carles

I fully agree. But it does give you some idea of what the collection is like (when I translated the text I did not fully recognise the collection I know I had seen, but then we all look for different things when we view a collection)

PostPosted: Dec 28, 2010 12:37    Post subject: The Fabre Collection - Rocks & Minerals article

FYI - the latest (Nov/Dec) issue of Rocks & Minerals magazine has an excellent article about Jordi's collection; "Jordi Fabre i Fornaguera, Collector of the Exquisite", by Carles Mila. A great job, and great to see and read about your collection in print this way, Jordi! I love the cover photo, of fluorite on Baryte from Asturias; "Roberto's Hedgehog".

Thank you to everybody. The final result was excellent, so thanks to Rock & MInerals and specially to Marie Huizing. She take care of every detail, doing her best to improve the article.

Thanks Marie, you are the best! ;-)

Jordi
PS: of course thanks too to the editor, Taylor & Francis, to permit the full on-line version ( https://www.rocksandminerals.org/Back%20Issues/2010/November-December%202010/fabre-article-full.html )

Thanks for reposting my note into the proper place, Jordi.

Evidently I missed reading John's and the other earlier posts about the article, and somehow (I am still puzzling over this???), I only received my copy of the Rocks & Minerals Nov/Dec issue, in the mail, this week!

Well, I still enjoyed the article, very much!
