A good show of iranian minerals Hassan. Really unknown for much of us, so thank you for sharing.
Always is interesting to know the mineral stuff from other countries, in this case from a big one like Iran.
Greetings from Spain

I agree with Joaquin: Nice to see some specimens from Iran. Usually we don't see many specimens from your country, though it is a large country with a geology that surely must have produced a lot of minerals. So thanks for showing some of them!

Hi Hasan!

I also thank you for sharing your photos here and encourage you to keep posting them in the near future.

However, I have to play now the role of the bad guy as well, so I'm going to ask you about a photo that has been posted twice, but with different sizes. I'm referring to IMG_6323.JPG (Apophyllite, Jalgaon District, Maharashtra, India), which measures 11 cm in the photo above and 12 cm in the one below. I was going to delete one of them but I need to know beforehand which of both sizes is the right one.

I'd also like to know what the size of pyrite.jpg specimen is (Pyrite, Ampliación a Victoria Mine, Navajún, La Rioja, Spain). You mention 1.2 cm but I think this might be not the whole specimen's size but only the crystal's. If you let me know I may correct it if needed.

Thanks,

Dear Carles,
Thanks a lot for your attention , you are a perspicacious man.
Excuse me for this wrong ...! Because of slowly internet in Iran ( upload a photo take over 5 minute , unfortunately ) I had this wrong , maybe.
However, please ,replace that IMG_6323.JPG ( First photo of Apophylite ,11 cm in size )by this photo , if possible.
And also , you are right in pyrite.jpg. The size of crystal is 1.2 cm .
Correct it please .
And also excuse me for low English.
Thanks again

Hasan,
Thank you for sharing the mineral riches of Iran with us. It is unfortunate that it is difficult for specimens to come to the western countries, particularly the USA. Of the few mines and species I have seen, and placed in my collection, I have been very impressed. Perhaps some day some of the collecting equipment and techniques will be used in Iran. At that point, I expect specimens that rival some of the world's great oxidized zone deposits.

Your diversity of specimens shows that Iran is a wonderful place for minerals !!

HI to everybody! I saw all these photos and I liked them very very much. But let me have an opinion about the green "demantoid" one: I think it is even an uvarovite, there are some specimens this bigness!

The Kerman garnets have been analyzed and are andradite v. demantoid.

Hi to verybody!
Ok, if you tell us the specimen were analyzed I have no alternative but accept the answer of the analysis! However there is a very slight difference between andradite var. demantoid and uvarovite, and often they appear a little mixed, as well as the group almandine-spessartine-pyrope: a garnet which is absolutely 100% almandine almost does not exist, and so it is for the group grossular-andradite-uvarovite! Then maybe these demantoids contain (for what I can see in the photo) a little more chrome than other ones, for example coming from Namibia, or Russia, or Val Malenco in Italy! Am I right? What did the analysis tell about?
Greetings from Italy by Riccardo.

I'm in Tucson with a bad internet connection, so I can't get to the analyses right now--I'll check when I get home. Of course, you are correct--there are rarely any true end-member garnets, and these are not going to be 100% andradite.

Hasan,
Thank you for sharing the mineral riches of Iran with us. It is unfortunate that it is difficult for specimens to come to the western countries, particularly the USA.
Your diversity of specimens shows that Iran is a wonderful place for minerals !!
