PostPosted: Feb 17, 2012 14:11    Post subject: Photo to Sketch

I have just discovered an interesting free download. For those collectors who would like to create pictures of their minerals, but feel that they are not artistic enough, this is perfect. It is software that allows anyone to convert a photograph to a sketch. The sketch can then be colored in with paint or any other coloring medium. This is not art in its purist form, of course, but I am sure that there are many collectors who would like to play with this process. True artists will probably be appalled at this technology, but we are not all fortunate to be artistic.

To find the free download go to https://www.thinkersoftware.com (link normalized by FMF) then click on “Photo to Sketch” in the blue area on the left of the page, then click “Download.”

I have attached images to show what can be done.
