Just one question - Would it be possible to raise the Mb on the camera so we can zoom in on your specimens? The photo's are excellent and clear and would be great to zoom in on.

Regards,

Mike :-)

Hi Mike, Let's see how this comes out. It is a repeat of the last specimen. Regards.

Hi Pierre, that's it - for the first time we have the ability to zoom in on your photo's!!

It makes a difference! For example, I was actually wonderering whether any of the small clear/white crystals lining the vug with the amethyst in the basalt in your last photo were actually stilbite. I'm still not sure to be honest, but I would half-expect stilbite to occur in cavities in basalt with or without quartz.

Did you increase the width of the picture to >800 pixels?

Regards, Mike :-)

Hi Mike. I was wondering about some of those 'calcite' crystals. I will attemp to take a few close ups and show them. I use Picasa to edit my photos. As you might know, it is a very basic program, but suitable for us. I Exported the last 2 pictures at about 1.3MB. Regards

Those are good close-up photo's Pierre. I think I'm satisfied that they are calcite crystals! The hexagonal cross-section is pretty conclusive - not like stilbite at all.
Thanks for posting!

Regards,

Mike

Hi Don. Thank you for your, always, kind compliments. There is still quite a bit of room for improvement with the photography. I find azurite and dioptase 2 very difficult species to photograph. Kind regards from both of us.

I echo Don's comments. I especially like the cobaltoan smithsonite and the mimetite.

Hi Pierre and Riana, your Tsumeb specimens are very nice, and your photography is very good. I really like the cobaltoan smithsonite specimen and the mottramite on/in calcite, and the larger azurite combinations - very pretty.

Best regards,

Mike
