They aren't flowers. They were an animal, known as crinoids, a forerunner of the sea urchins, sand dollars and in the the echinoderms family. The fossils specimen is superb.

Just back from a long trip to Washington DC for my bicycle advocacy work. Met with congressmen and senators on the Hill. Had a nice visit to the Smithsonian for the gem and mineral hall, twice! Jeff Post was kind enough to give my friends a backroom tour, along with us of course. And day two was spent photographing almost all the minerals on display, that was quite a task. Anyhow, back to Tucson......

I am still adding, there is a LOT more, but it is slow going as we are constructing a new addition on our home and I am very busy with that. So please do check back often as I will add as often as I can till done! I enjoy doing this, no worries.
