Concerning the quality of the images in FMF, a few days ago we ended (successfully) the migration of the Spanish side of FMF to a new server, which is much more efficient and larger. We are still finishing details but as soon as everything works properly on the Spanish side, we will change the compression system used on the Spanish FMF for the images and after that they will look much, much better.
Of course as soon as this is done on the Spanish side we will do the same here, on the English side, so please wait a little bit longer and in a few weeks FMF will run much, much faster and the images will look much, much better. |

Will the improvement in picture quality make my mediocre quality mineral photo's look better?!

Over the past few days I have noticed a big improvement in the quality (in terms of clarity!) of my photo's, also the photo size in terms of KB (kilobytes) has been increased.

Waiting to complete the migration process of FMF before to apply the improvement of the image's quality, you can check how the new system will work visiting these fantastic images from Christian Rewitzer in the Spanish side: https://www.foro-minerales.com/forum/viewtopic.php?p=102499#102499
Please check every image, if you do click on it you will see the hi-resolution version of the same image and then you can magnify or minimize the image and move it (when maximized) with the mouse.

PD: we are also waiting the end of the migration to create the new section: "A mineralogical trip through Germany" which will operate on the same way as the other two "Mineralogical trips" of USA and UK. Tobi and James already worked on it and everything is ready but we prefer to start this new section with the new image´s improvement already working. |

The migration process has been completed. You are now able to post new messages to the forum. If you had "automatic log in" activated, you'll need to log on again to the new server:
 Log in
Remember to check the option:
Log me on automatically each visit: [X]
We will post a new message with detailed information about the new image capabilities in FMF.
