I love art but I usually work in black in white when I draw and I have never attempted anything like this before. This is an Aragonite from my person collection. There will be more to come.

The color must be off on my computer because from my tablet this is much more vibrant and on here it's so white it should look a lot more orange and I forgot to mention I made this on my tablet using the app Sketch Guru

Good job Daniel, congratulations.

I just added a copy of your artwork with more Aragonite and less background. A different vision of the same thing... ;-)

Daniel,
That's very cool. That might be a great graphic design tool for anyone more versed in the fine arts than in complicated graphics programs. Can you save the file with different backgrounds or as a stand alone image with no background?

You can use any solid colors as backgrounds or just plain white, or photos, paintjoy is another great app similar to sketch guru. There are a lot of apps that have the tools of these two apps but I perfer the layout of Paintjoy and Sketch Guru. Only problem was I had to email the image to myself so I could save it as a jpeg which I did from my laptop. And Jordi, thanks for fixing the background size, I realized after making it that I should have drawn it

The next one isn't based on any real life minerals, it's just for fun using a real life picture for a background to show the abilities of this app and to show, yes you can use an actual photo for the background. I was thinking of starting a collection of art work, Mineral Graffiti, using different photos of different walls with minerals painted on them. It was created on my tablet using the Paint Joy app.

Hi Daniel,
I like your Aragonite, for me you are a newcomer-artist like Ed. I'm glad to see young people painting. Which colours do you use? Watercolours, oil ... When did you start painting, who teached you?
It would be great, if you could be on board, if there was a new kind of paint off..

Regards
Brunhild

For that picture I used an app on my tablet, for non digital works I use colored pencils and ink mostly when I do use color, but mostly I use pencil and charcoals and work in black and white. I have been drawing as long as I can remember. No one taught me, it just came to me naturally and as I got older my skills increased. By my preteen years I was sketching, and doing fairly well at it. I have been working with colors for almost ten years now. I never did like paint which is why I do pencil, pen and liquid ink. This is my first mineral art work, I mainly do still life, nature study, building, animals and things of that nature.

Hi Daniel,
thank you for answering. Did you publish your other artworks? I had no teacher as well. I found my own way to paint and so do you. You will paint more minerals and we all will like them, I'm sure.

Brunhild

None of my artworks are published, I have them on my facebook profile though. I draw from those step by step art books so most my works are of copyright images. And though I do use step by step books I don't follow the steps, I look at the final picture and draw from there, I don't like the step by step instructions, I like doing things my way when doing my art work.

I am sorry for the quality, I do not have a scanner right now and my camera didn't do a great job focusing.

This is the first mineral I tried to actually draw on paper instead of doing digitally so it isn't too great.
