Recently, I dropped one of my crystals and broke a small piece off. I was wondering if someone might know of a way to repair it. Is there a glue i can buy that will stand the test of time and wont take from the ascetics of the mineral? Thank you all very much. |

Hi Headstashcrystals!
Is it possible to repair a broken mineral? Well, it depends on what kind of crystal it is and how seriously it broke, of course!

If it is a simple clean break, repairing it shouldn't be a problem. The type of adhesive you use will depend on whether the crystal is opaque or transparent. If it is opaque, you can use regular white glue, which has the advantage of being water soluble. If the crystal is transparent, you would want to use a clear-drying glue like Epoxy 330. In either case, these should hold up quite well. It's also advisable to make a note on the label that the specimen was repaired.
