Hi Am,

Do you know which kind of mineral is associated with the quartz from Perranzabuloe. Looks like a calcite coating on another mineral, but I didn't find equivalent on Mindat photos ?

Thanks

Christophe

Hi Christophe,

The specimen came only identified as quartz. Maybe someone else can provide an educated guess on what the associated mineral is.

Looks rhombohedral. Dolomite or Siderite, maybe?

Since my last login, the pieces I have enjoyed are the Baryte, Pyrite and Fluorite from the Moscona Mine, Asturias, Spain (BaryteSpain.jpg, pg. 12) and that quartz from the Jinkouhe District, Sichuan Province, China (QuartzDT.jpg, pg. 12). I have added that fluorite and quartz combination from Goscheneralp, Canton Uri, Switzerland (SwissFluoriteQtz1.jpg, pg. 12) as a personal favorite photograph on my mindat page so I can look at it every day!

Outstanding Mike! This was one of my favorites. It would have been mine if you hadn't gotten to it first ;=))

Beautiful specimen of aquamarine Mike. I love the colour of the Taplejung beryls, but you don't see many available - I wonder if the deposit is small or limited to a small area.
Thanks, Mike.

From a supposed small pocket found in the late 1970's. Very pale pink spherical rhodochrosite on manganite. Does anyone have any additional information on this find?

Hi Am,

The beryl from Nepal is a killer. Didn't know it was possible to find specimens like that in Nepal.
