Hello Carles:

Congratulations for your specimens; your scheelite with Japan-law quartz twin and your elbaite from Paprok are two small big killers.

Quartz

Group of several, completely transparent, colorless crystals. Overall size: 83 mm x 67 mm. Major crystal size: 65 mm tall, 35 mm wide. Purchased from Joan Montal in 1981. The gray and black areas, especially in the tip of the left crystal, are not real, must be a mistake of the camera I believe. (According to what Paul S. writes in the post below, these areas are the reflections of the more opaque white areas at the underside of the crystals, where they are attached on the matrix.)

Diamantina, Jequitinhonha valley, Minas Gerais, Southeast Region, Brazil

Very very nice crystals, they form a lovely specimen.

I think these areas are the reflections of the more opaque white area's at the underside of the crystals, where they are attached on the matrix. Don't blame the camera, blame the physics! ;-)
