Hi there, everyone! My partner and I are younger mineral collectors in the industry, and we've loved being able to appreciate your collections for a while now. FMF has proven to be a crucial tool in researching comparable specimens to those in our own collection, and it's a joy to see people sharing their knowledge generously with each other to help improve the industry as a whole.

We wanted to upload a few of our favorite collection photos as of late, where we've been attempting a "floating" affect to really set the piece apart.

We hope you enjoy them!

The last post I'll make for right now, this is a beautiful Dioptase specimen from Geary Murdock's collection! I will say, having the honor of acquiring so many of Geary's life's work has been a great one. I've grown a lot of respect for his taste and aesthetic when considering mineral specimens from all locations. It's unfortunate that my partner and I will never have the chance to meet him now that he's passed.

Here is a photo of the Dioptase from Geary Murdock that shows off the white bed of Calcite that grew before the Dioptase. This is typical for Dioptase from this locale that was part of the original mining operation - mainly the earlier pieces will have this defining feature. This white base creates such a vivid emerald green coloration in the Dioptase that grew on top.

You can include up to 15 photos or images within each message. To see how to add photos and how to include up to 15 photos/images in a single message read this page:

https://www.mineral-forum.com/message-board/viewtopic.php?p=19493#19493

If you do that a multi photo post does not engulf the forum.

Hi K-M, James is right, but besides that:

Welcome to the community and thanks for sharing your minerals here :-) Looks like a well selected collection, good specimens, especially that ex. Ross Lillie calcite is a killer!

I hope to see more from your collection, best regards
Tobi

Thank you both for letting me know about the 15 photos to a post! That will definitely make things easier, apologies if it spammed anyone!

And thank you for your kind words about our collection! 😊 We definitely treasure them

You can tell us more about yourselves (if you want) by adding a post to this page.

As a non-USA collector I had to research the former collections you mentioned!
