What a great job! Fantastic amazonite (page 6), I have just watched it for the first time. Nice collection, congratulations!

Thanks Pablo!

Here is a big-for-the-locality California garnet. I bought this from a local collector about 10 years ago, and spent about 30 hours with an air scribe carefully revealing the garnets--they were completely covered by Quartz. An air abrade was used to remove the characteristic dimpling of the quartz left by the air scribe. Unfortunately, I don't have any "before" photos.

Bob,

I think the 30 hours was worth it on the California garnet. It 's a fabulous specimen.

As usual, wonderful specimens, Bob!

Especially that grossular from California: I love garnet minerals, but i never heard of that locality before. Really large AND beautiful specimen, wow :-)

Here are a few unusual pieces...

FJB5972a.jpg
 Description:
Calcite
Flambeau Mine, near Ladysmith, Rusk County, Wisconsin, USA
81 x 69 x 43 mm

"Wheat sheave" shaped white Calcites to 32 x 16 mm, with pearly luster and light-red Hematite accents are perched on sparkly contrasting matrix of Calcite. Although there is some damage, this is a very rare and important specimen-one of only three Calcites found at the Flambeau Mine in Wisconsin, and the very best one found. It was collected by Casey Jones who sold it to F. John Barlow (#5972), and was later consigned to Casey upon dissolution of the Barlow collection.
