My aim is to visit all abandoned mines across city of Pribram.
It is assumed that their present-day visibility is minimal.
These localities were historical testing sites for silver or iron ore veins.
I started with Mineshaft Antonie (1859).
The place itself is inaccessible, located in the present-day garden of a family house (under construction).
..............
Other localities will be added.

Hello Pavel!
I have some specimens from the Přibram mining district and I'm surprised, that an old shaft is now situated in a house garden.
Best wishes
Martin

Hello Martin.
It is nice to know that Pribram is in awareness of world mineralogists. .)
Yes, it was quite a surprise for me also, but on the other hand, it has to be like this, the whole city was drilled through and count of mine shafts, mines and testing sites is really high. Most of them are not visible today (often except small spoil banks - hillocks). The first report about mining in the Pribram area is from 1311. Iron ore, then silver and lead, and in unhappy communist history uranium (work camps).
Of course - it can lead to collapse (like on the pictures) and consequential redevelopment is provided by The Ministry of the Environment.
P.S.:
Martin - have you ever been to Pribram? Niederösterreich is not too far away.. ;)

Hi PSax!
I have been already twice in Pribram and saw the museum at the main square in the center of the town. It was very interesting to see those former mines which have been transformed into museums! I was told once the former miners then turned into guides of the ex-mines/now museums! Of course I came there with my unseparable bike and slept in Beroun (the first and second time) and in Trebenice (the third and last time I came there in 2009).
I hope I can see you in my country!
Greetings from Italy by Riccardo.

Hello Pavel!
Of course, you are absolutely right. Here in Austria, we have some mine areas like Přibram. For example Hüttenberg and Bad Bleiberg in Carinthia and Schwaz in Tyrol (I think you know these localities). Some years ago, in Schwaz, an old adit from the Middle Age collapsed. A lot of boulders falling down from the high to buildings of the town of Schwaz. A great rumor gone around newspapers and TV.
Unfortunately, I not yet been to Přibram; I've been planning this for 5 years. ;) So I hope I have time for this and may be we can meet.
Martin
