PostPosted: Jul 06, 2015 16:09    Post subject: Heftetjern-Pegmatit, Telemark, Drangedal, Tørdal, Norway

Hello everybody,

Just a tiny question about the Heftetjern-Pegmatit quarry at Tørdal in Norway. I have searching the Internet for this locality. The main thing that I noticed is that permission must be granted by the owner of the quarry.

I've been looking all over the internet, searching for the owners name, telephone number and/or address. Without results.

The question is quite apparent: Does anybody, perhaps, know the name, telephone number and/or address of the owner?
And to make sure it won't be a mess at his place, please PM it to me?

Thanks in advance,

Mark

Try asking Torgeir Garmo in Lom. He runs the Steinesenter. He knows everyone in Norway.

I think Mr. Tveit is the owner of this quarry. He is usually home; the road to the larger quarries passes by his house. He will charge a fee per kg of collected material which is very fair. In general, Norway is very expensive so be prepared!

By searching for Mm.r Kai Peder Tveit who is the owner, drangedal › toerdal › ka...
Mobile-friendly - Kai Peder Tveit fra Tørdal, Drangedal. ... Kai Peder Tveit – 35 99 82 21. Adresse, Tveit, 3753 Tørdal. Telefon, 35 99 82

The Heftetjern pegmatite is situated much higher up on Skafjell at about 700m altitude and is accessed by walking from the road leading nnw to the west if the road to Höydalen

Thank you all very much. I'll definitely visit Mr. Tveit.

Thanks for the help.

Hi Mark, are you going to Norway soon? Hope you have a great trip and if you find any nice large Bazzite crystals please let us know! ;-)
I went to Norway twice in the 1980's but didn't know about any mineral localities then, though I was interested in minerals at the time and did collect some; it's a great advantage being able to actually see (glaciated)! rocks everywhere.
Did you go to Ireland last summer?
Mike

Hi Mike,
I'm currently at camping Buøy in Dalen, Norway. I plan to go to Heftetjern and Høydalen tomorrow (15-07). I too hope I find some nice bazzite crystals.

Actually no, last year I went to Cornwall. Visited South Terras Mine and Geevor Tin Mines. Whythe intrest in Ireland?

Mark

Wow, lucky you camping right now in Norway, I'm a bit jealous! Hope the mosquitos aren't too bad, and good luck for your day tomorrow :-)
I thought last year (maybe it was two years ago or more) you were asking about Ireland as if you were going there, but it's probably me getting mixed up with someone else...
Cheers, Mike
