PostPosted: Nov 20, 2015 04:06    Post subject: Bulgarian minerals for exchange

Greetings!
I have many specimens of pyrite, galena, sphalerite, quartz, calcite, agate and others (in a variety of combinations / associations) from Bulgaria for exchange. The size is mostly thumbnail to cabinet.
I am looking for high quality specimens of any species of minerals. I am especially interested in selections of different minerals from different localities. I prefer thumbnail to cabinet sized specimens.

Hi,

I do not collect Bulgarian minerals (except for one Madan galena I have in my collection), but a German fellow collector named Marcus Voigt is specialised on the minerals from that country. Our last contact is some years ago and I don't know if his old mail address is still working, but you can try to contact him via marcus.voigt1 @ freenet . de . If he doesn't respond, you can also try to contact him via his Mindat account ( http://www.mindat.org/user-17933.html ).

A question of procedure would be, how would we proceed to acquire said minerals. By private message, I would assume? And there, we would be able to view them, and correspond with our trades? I have never engaged in this activity before,
but I have carried much out that is up for trade.

Yes. The FMF does not deal in selling or valuing minerals, but an offer to trade is not inappropriate according to our current criteria. But the followup should be done by FMF private message, or even better by personal email dialog. FMF can bear no responsibility for the satisfactory completion of trades.

It is easier for me to say what I am NOT interested in: Galena, Quartz, Chalcopyrite, Sphalerite, Calcite, Agate, Chalcedon, Pyrite, Dolomite, Rhodochrosite and other species found here in Bulgaria. But it is always the best to SEE what others are offering for exchange.

The procedure is well explained in How does "Mineral Exchange Area" work? which is at the top of this section and marked in red.

About the exchange proposed by Wolfgang Proestler. I believe it would be much better if, as usual in this section, he published at least some photos of what he has to exchange, otherwise it is a little bit confusing. Although it is true that he can't send PM for a while because he is new in FMF, he can answer any PM he receives, so if he publishes photos and someone is interested, Wolfgang can receive a PM and he can answer it (them). This is the way this section works and it works this way to avoid hidden commercial proposals...

Ok, I understand. Just tried to upload a few pictures and followed the instructions, but after selecting the picture the path and the file name does not appear (I am using apple).

8.-) You can include up to 15 photos or images within each message. To see how to add photos and how to include up to 15 photos/images in a single message follow this link

Hi,

When you create a new thread or answer a message, below the message body where you type your message there is a 'filename' button. Just click it and select the first photo. Then repeat to add other photos. Using Apple products is not an issue as this website works fine with all devices.
