Mineral Explorers have recently been in Barcelona preparing one of its episodes, this time about the Iberian Peninsula.

From what I have seen it will be worth! ;-)

My recollection is that this is a PBS series. Am I right? Anyone know when it airs?

Hi!
This is Annie from Mineral Explorers.
Just wanted to let you all know a little about what to expect from Mineral Explorers Season 2.

We will be releasing Mineral Explorers Season 2 at the end of summer 2016.
The new season will include episodes from Peru, Tucson and the Tucson Gem and Mineral Show, San Diego, Dangerous Mines of South America, and Spain. The episodes will be featuring a number of minerals such as pyrite, fluorite, azurite, tourmaline, and the mines that produce them.
If you are interested, our season 1 box set is available at our website.

I'm not sure if an actual air date has been set yet, but I think it's still planning to be on PBS! All of the episodes have been shot already, so they're just in post-production now.

If your local PBS hasn't picked it up, the first season is available OnDemand on Vimeo at http://ondemand.mineralexplorers.com/ and I'm assuming next season will be available online as well. They also have the DVD available for on their website. http://mineralexplorers.com/shop/ (links normalized by FMF)

PostPosted: Nov 13, 2016 23:23    Post subject: Jordi on TV !!!

Was channel surfing tonight and landed on PBS. Mineral Explorers was on with Thomas Nagin. I thought the star of the show was Fearless Leader, Jordi. Rob Lavinsky was also interviewed.

Jordi and Thomas were sitting on the steps leading down to the plaza where Christopher Columbus had just returned from the New World with strange and exotic things to show the inhabitants of Barcelona. Things that they had never seen before. Jordi was telling Thomas about the event. Jordi was speaking so passionately about this experience that it appeared to me that Jordi was actually there in person when Christopher Columbus returned. Of course I imagine that Jordi was just a small boy then. Since I will not see Jordi in Tucson in February I am going to ask Vic if he would get Jordi to tell him his first hand account about his meeting with Christopher Columbus and let us know how it went.
;-)
