Can anyone recommend worthwhile mineralogical experiences in the Denver, CO area other than the Natural Science museum? I will be visiting in September for GSA and want to make the most of it.

Colorado School of Mines has an excellent mineral museum. Dave Bunk minerals and Collector's Edge minerals are both worth a visit

The National Mining Hall of Fame and Museum, Leadville has a mineral museum. It's a bit of a drive from Denver, but if you go that way it is worth visiting.
