That last picture of the pyromorphite from Les Farges is stunning, both in the quality of the specimen and the photograph.

I would have said Les Farges too, but not in my collection sadly (I can't afford the really good ones).

Superb samples, Jordi and Les! :-)

Additional information:

I changed the name of the topic from "Favourite Pyromorphite localities" to "Favourite Pyromorphites". So everyone can feel free not only to discuss his/her favourite localities but also which colours and forms of that mineral he/she likes the most, e.g. elongated or thick crystals, dark or bright green or yellow or brown or orange, lustrous or not etc. ...

Absolutely amazing specimens.
I'm wondering about the matrix of the Schauinsland image. What exactly is it and what does it consist of?
Even for an amateur I have this obsession for wanting to know everything about everything going back (like stages) to how it was formed.

I think the matrix is quartz with limonite, but I don't know for sure.

Okay. That's kinda what I thought and it looks exactly like what I'm mining right now in southeast Colorado. Limonite, quartz, with what looks to be arsenic layered in between.
But this stuff I'm into is carrying a tangerine colored crystal matrix on the surface.
Not sure what it is yet.

Its Orpiment. And I'm putting right back where I found it. Ughh

This is not my favourite Pyromorphite in my collection but it surely is one of the them, but I want to post it because you don't seen too many of these specimen from this locality.

And in addition the color is special.
