PostPosted: Jan 07, 2017 06:44    Post subject: ID confirmation

Hi all right?
My name is Robson and today i would like to receive a confirmation for this mineral. I think it is an Analcime crystal. So i found it at a basaltic region close my home. It was the biggest crystal this specimen i found allthough i found other even better but smaller in amigdaloidal basalt. Properties:
Name: Unknow, possibly Analcime
Color: Ice white
Luster: Vitreous and waxy a little bit
Cleavage: Unseen
Habit: Crystal with cutted shapes like a ball soccer (the crystal is not complete)
Fracture: Imperfect; it is not conchoidal
Density: 2.25
Hardness: 5
Environment: Baslt quarry
Association: Quartz, Calcite, Jasper, Celadonite, Augite(?), Chlorastrolite, Cooper, Thomsonite, scolecite, .... and possibly Philipsite.
Other: It seems to have a partition or a very bad cleavage i dont know. It has striation at some points of its surface, as quartz has.I found other with red (hematite) and green (Celadonite) inclusions.

It is probably analcime, as you indicate. Thanks for doing all those diagnostic tests.
