Hello:

I do not know where this came from (other than my mother gave it to me, she was a science teacher), but I am trying to identify a number of minerals and rocks that I have.
Any information is greatly appreciated.

Looks like malachite. A drop of muriatic acid would dissolve it while making bubbles.
