PostPosted: Mar 28, 2017 14:31    Post subject: Belgium - Liege Interminal Show.

Do you want to know about unusual Congolese minerals, visit the LIEGE (Belgium) Mineral Show 2017.
In November, Intermineral, the Mineral Show organized by AGAB will take place in Liège.

The theme will be dedicated to the minerals of D.R. Congo.
Belgium was very active in the mining area of Katanga and Kivu during the period 1900 - 1960.
Institutes and employees of the great Congolese industries have built up collections of remarkable samples, often unique and rare as buttgenbachite (Likasi). Since the sixties other wonders have appeared and now lie in some museums, including that of Luxembourg (MNHNLux).

11 showcases of selected minerals from P.R. Congo will be presented in Liège in November.

Captions of pics, all from Katanga :
1) Cobaltoan calcite, Mashamba.
2) Marthozite, Musonoi, Katanga.
3) Billietite, Studtite and Uranophane, Shinkolobwe.
4) Torbernite, Shinkolobwe.
