It came from maine and I had it months ago. It weights about 2.3 pounds.

Looks like a chunk of quartz with some iron staining.
When giving info on these examples, a lot could be helpful, but just giving the specimen's weight is mostly of no help as it is just a reflection of the specimen size. BOB

Other responders will give you more definitive guidelines, that are included in the website's rules for putting specimens on the site for identification.
The example's streak, specific gravity, hardness, and location of the find (Maine in your case) will be of importance. The guidelines include instructions for the testing. But the specimen weight, by itself, is of no help as, I mentioned, it is just the reflection of its size. BOB

If you need to identify your specimen, please read Asking: "What is this? / Where is it from?" and do these simple tests.

You can incluce several pictures in the same post. Please read How to add multiple photos to a Post.
