PostPosted: Apr 04, 2018 05:53    Post subject: Amethyst legitimacy question

Hello,
I’ve had this amethyst all my life and can’t remember where it came from. Now gaining more interest in crystals and was wondering if anyone could tell me how to identify a fake one. The area in between the crust and the quartz differs from my other crystals and is kind of translucent. Is this a fake cluster?
Thank you

Looks like a perfectly normal amethyst from Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil, to me too.

Indeed it is what Alfredo and Tobi just said.
All natural amethyst on white quartz and as such, a section of a larger geode.
