Besides that discussion, can anyone help concerning the sulfide question?

I agree, especially about the galena because of its sharp edges and well defined faces. Good acquisitions, Tobi !

What are these brownish small crystals? Siderite/Dolomite or fluorite? Nice specimen but looks a bit uncommon for Beihilfe.

Halo Tobi,
I like the galena too & you are a far better mineral photographer than me.

And Chris, also thanks for the compliment ... but my skills in photographing minerals are rather low. Good pictures - like that of the Freiberg galena - always depend on the specimens themselves, what colour they have, how they reflect light etc.; there are some specimens where I can only resign. I even have some specimens in my collection which I never managed to shoot properly and load them up on Mindat or here on FMF. If I was a really good mineral photographer, I sure would have won those "battles" ...

Here's a new German fluorite specimen, very small and unspectacular, but somehow aesthetic and from a relatively unkown locality in Bavaria. Well, I guess Andreas Gerstenberg (https://www.mineral-forum.com/message-board/viewtopic.php?t=980), if he reads this, will laugh his head off because HE knows EVERY mineral locality in our country ;-) ... But most of you may not know this village in Bavaria with its ~1800 inhabitants ;-)
This specimens features several tiny fluorite crystals on a bed of red eisenkiesel quartz. The matrix consists of another generation of purple fluorite.
Mineral: | Fluorite on Quartz (variety eisenkiesel) |
Locality: | Roywiesen adit, Reißbühl Mine, Bach, Bach an der Donau, Donaustauf, Regensburg, Upper Palatinate/Oberpfalz, Bavaria/Bayern, Germany
|
Dimensions: | Specimen size 4,5 cm, largest fluorite 6 mm |

Pretty eye-catchy for an unspectacular specimen!

Another specimen from Germany, this time from a well-known locality. Well defined, lustrous chalcopyrite crystals on white baryte blades. From the former "mass production" locality of Dreislar in Sauerland (North Rhine-Westphalia) which is now closed:
Mineral: | Chalcopyrite, Baryte |
Locality: | Dreislar Mine, Dreislar, Winterberg, Sauerland, North Rhine-Westphalia/Nordrhein-Westfalen, Germany
|
Dimensions: | Specimen height 6 cm, largest chalcopyrites 5 mm |

Fiebre Verde wrote: | Pretty eye-catchy for an unspectacular specimen! | Thanks Gérard, but "eye-catchy" is a bit exaggerated. The specimen is really small, has a simple shape and not much colour contrast; you'll have to get veeery close to the illuminated display to see its beauty, so it hasn't the potential to be an eye-catcher ... but nevertheless it's a cool miniature from an uncommon German locality and thus I like it as a welcome addition to my collection :-)
Pierre Joubert wrote: | Very nice Tobi (chalcopyrite crystals on white baryte blades)! | Thanks Pierre, I also love this one. Most Dreislar specimens don't appeal to me because they consist of massive baryte with small dark points of chalcopyrite. But this one belongs to the better ones, the baryte shows a nice foliated structure and the chalcopyrites are quite large, well defined and really shiny.
The following picture shows the new label for this specimen. I'm planning to make new labels for my display collection; and this is my current idea using the example of the Dreislar baryte. Additional information: "Kupferkies" is the German word for chalcopyrite ("Kupfer" is the German word for copper and "-kies" is a suffix often used for sulfides) and "Schwerspat" is an old term for baryte, meaning "heavy spar".
