PostPosted: Apr 23, 2009 14:21    Post subject: Stores in Arizona

Hi everyone, this is my first post.
My Name is Jason, I am a casual collector, I live in NJ.

My Girlfriend and I are visiting Arizona this weekend, and I would like to find some places to buy some of what arizona has to offer.
Would anyone know of any places to buy some nice specimens?

Thanks in advance,

Jay Cohen

Jay, there are a number of rock shops in Quartzsite Az. that offer a variety of native minerals and are still open. Quartzsite is located close to the California border.

Jason,

Where are you flying into and where do you plan on visiting?

I'll be in Phoenix. I guess I should have mentioned that.
I will be renting a car and don't mind driving.
Thanks again.

What sort of specimens are you interested in? Price, size, location. The drive out to Quartzsite probably will not be worth the time and trouble but I should be able to steer you towards someone in the Phoenix area.

Jake, Les is being a bit disingenuous, HE has very nice specimens...but no shop. Several other dealers may be in Houston this weekend however.

Jake,

I suggest too a visit to Les in Phoenix (if Les is available). You will get great time with him, I'm sure, and if you have the chance and Peter time, I strongly suggest to you visit also Peter Megaw in Tucson. A lot of fun with both!

Jordi
