For work questions I have left myself to fall down a few days in Romania, centered in Bucharest. For the travelers that have occasion I can recommend the visit of the Museum of Geology. It has a good representation of Rumanian minerals of the zones that everybody knows well and from those that probably some of you have pieces..

The building is really nice and it has more than one century. It was specially designed to receive the Geological Institute of Romania. The National Museum of Geology, inaugurated in 1990, is designed on a very didactic way - too much for my feeling - but it offers several spectacular ancient pieces from the Rumanian mines, emphasizing evidently the northwest zone of the country with Maramures in the first line. Also we can find specimens with Rumanian type locality: nagyagite, semseyite...

There is a big room that contains what they call "Mine Flowers" that are magnificent specimens of stibnite, with other not less interesting specimens with good size of other sulphurs.

If everything is OK we expect to extract in Mineral Up a short article about the Museum. I want to emphasize the kind attention of the curator of the Museum, Dr Calin Ricman, and the invitation to return to see everything what is not exposed (more than 90 %) and what due to my few availability of time I could not enjoy.

The website could be found in “Saint Google”: Museul National Geologie or Museul Antipa.

Mr Joan Rosell

NB: The new Mineral Up magazine with Berbes fluorite article will be issued in few days, please be patient.

Joan Rosell mention "Mineral Up". It is a magazine published by the G.M.C. (Grup Mineralògic Català) and is offered in three languages: Catalan, Spanish and English. The quality of the photos is exceptional, both in their printing and in the actual photos.
The link to visit this magazine is: https://www.mineralup.com/
